Hand in Hand Rehab was founded in 2020
by Senior Occupational Therapist Angela Cheng
with the vision to provide quality and accessible hand therapy.

Angela graduated from Curtin University (Perth, WA) in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, where she was recognised for her excellent academic performance. Prior to that, she was awarded the Ministry of Health Gold Medal and admitted to the Director’s List for her top performance in her Diploma studies in Singapore.

Angela has extensive working experience in the public and private health sectors that spans over 10 years between Singapore and Australia. Before moving to Melbourne, Angela worked at Singapore’s second largest academic medical centre, National University Hospital, where she specialised in hand therapy and neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Angela’s passion for hand rehabilitation grew due to her interest in splinting and the far reaching effects of hand therapy. In the past 5 years, Angela further developed her leadership skills and expertise as a hand therapist at Melbourne Hand Rehab, where she headed the skills training and fellowship programme.

Angela strives for excellence not only in her studies but also in her work. Angela strongly believes in listening to the needs of her patients and being meticulous in what she does. She is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) and regularly engages in professional development to keep abreast of latest evidences and practices. Angela believes that these translate to providing quality care for her patients. Angela has a particular interest in supporting seniors in the community and making hand therapy more affordable for this population.

Coming from a multi-cultural background, Angela relates to and enjoys working with people from different cultures. Besides English, Angela also speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.

I am passionate about empowering my patients towards recovery and injury prevention.
